  • Troubles With Acne? Try a Dead Sea Mask

Studies show that almost 100% of all people will suffer from some form of acne at one point in their life. For many people, however, acne is more than just a few pimples. It is debilitating, scarring, and can cause permanent psychological damage. Acne changes peoples’ lives and finding quality acne products can be a lifelong quest for many sufferers. One of the best methods to treat acne problems is through the use of a Dead Sea mask.

The mud that is found at the Dead Sea is not the same mud you have in your backyard after a good rain. It is extremely high in minerals and is made with natural spring water. It is free of bacteria and toxins and is used to draw impurities away from your pores. A good Dead Sea mask is made with materials found at the Dead Sea. Make sure you look closely at the label of any item that is labeled “Dead Sea” to ensure that it is authentic.

  • The new wrinkle cure scam-don’t be a victim

Do not to fall victim to the newest “wrinkle cure” scam. There are thousands of sites popping up lately describing average housewives who have found two skin care products, if used in combination cure wrinkles.

There are Sue’s, Bonnie’s, Judy’s, Gail’s, Cindy’s, Kim’s, Tara’s, and Michele’s all stating that they started their little blogs to share a wrinkle removal secret they discovered that literally changed their lives. Oh, and they all have 3 kids and a wonderful husband.

They have just enough positive comments and then “comments closed due to spam”. One woman even wrote: “I have used these products for 2 weeks and my wrinkles are gone!” LOL. From the cookie cutter websites:

“It changed my life and I hope it can change yours too. I’m not a doctor, dermatologist or medical expert–I’m just a mom who stumbled upon a special combination of two different products that work wonders when put together. This is my story.”

You get a free trial of both. HA! This means that you give them your credit card and they will charge you monthly after a certain trial period, for each, and I challenge you to find the information to “cancel at any time.”

Anyhow, I know you all desperately want to believe these “women” and I am sure that the products aren’t so bad, just as I am sure these women have not used them.  But let’s be realistic……..does this nose look like that of the same woman?

  • The Dead Sea Lotion That Treats Many Skin Imperfections

If there is one thing that all of us dread, it is aging. We all know that time will catch up with us eventually and certain changes will take place to our body. Our skin will sag, we will get wrinkles, and the years of sun damage will start to show. Cosmetics, lotions, and creams can create short-term, superficial changes, but the best way to deal with aging is through the use of natural treatments. Dead Sea lotions, creams, and masks can do wonders to reverse the signs of aging and bring your skin back to a true youthful look.

The Dead Sea is one of those miracles of Mother Nature that make you once again believe in the power of natural ingredients. • Good skin foods-easy diet changes for beautiful skin

berries-skin-foodThere are thousands of women looking for good skin foods. Why? Because our generation has learned over the past several years that there is a strong connection between food or health and beautiful skin. Thousands of women who have taken control over their health by changing their diet have seen a dramatic change in the look of their skin. Here are just some of the results they are seeing….

  • A slimmer body
  • Diminished puffiness in the face
  • Smoother, clearer skin
  • Better skin color
  • Elimination of causes of premature aging

This is the first article in a series of articles that will open your mind to ways that you can improve your skin through proper diet. It’s not just about finding good skin foods; that’s easy. It’s far more important to eliminate specific foods from your diet. Eliminating certain foods from your diet takes quite a bit of self control however the benefits can be drastic.

One of the first simple steps you can take to improve the look of your skin is to change out some of the food you already eat. Upgrade your favorite staples that are depleted and unnatural to those that are full of natural ingredients that enhance your skin. And don’t just say “oh yea, I’ve heard that before.” These changes are vital to good skin health.

Sunshine Botanicals Total Body Transformation
1. Buy only good, whole-grain bread. Remember, “wheat bread” is the same as white bread. Only 100 percent whole grain is the real thing. Look in the health food section of your grocery store for flourless bread or those with sprouted grains.

2. Do not buy canned fruit, fruit juices, or dried fruit. These products do not revitalize your body like fresh, whole, brightly colored fruits. Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cantalope, watermelon, plums, peaches and mangoes. Berries contain phytochemicals that beautify the skin making them one of the best skin foods available.

This was a difficult one for me as I was not brought up eating fruit, so I never acquired a taste for it. Over the past year, I forced myself to eat just one piece of fresh fruit daily whenever I had a craving for something sweet. It was not easy. Like I said, it may take some self control to grab the fruit from your fridge instead of a snack in the cabinet.

3. Instead of purchasing iceburg lettuce, canned veggies, potatoes and corn, buy dark leafy greens such as spinach or romaine, fresh peppers, broccoli, snow peas, asparagus, tomatoes and avocados. If you can’t buy fresh, than frozen is the next best choice.

4. Do not buy hydrogenated shortening, margarine, bottled salad dressing, and soy sauce. Switch these common staples with grape seed oil, extra virgin olive oil, roasted sesame oil and organic butter.

5. Buy organic plain yogurt, kefir, soy milk and natural cheese instead of conventionally produced milk products, sweetened yogurt and processed cheese.

These are just the first steps in the quest for good skin food. Once your body becomes accustomed to these small upgrades, it will start to demand them, and you will begin to see a drastic change in your health and skin.

  • New Body Skin Care Products From the Dead Sea

American women spend over $7 billion a year on cosmetics. That includes shampoos and hair styling products, lotions, creams, and make-up. That is an awful lot of money to look good. Most of the money is not spent on cleaning (like shampoo or soap), but rather spent on fixing superficial problems or preventing problems from appearing. The amount spent on wrinkle creams is phenomenal. Body skin care products alone can take a huge chunk of any woman’s monthly budget, and most of that money is clearly wasted.

Body skin care products come in many shapes and forms. They may be highly-engineered, manufactured, and processed products with ingredients you can’t pronounce. They are mass-produced, tested on animals, and not really proven to work. Other skin care products claim they are natural, or have natural-looking packaging, but they really aren’t.

  • Organic Argan Oil-the new miracle natural skin care product?

organic-argan-oilI love to use oils on my skin, especially in the summer. There is nothing like tanned, glowing skin topped off with skin care oils. If you have not used them, you do not know what you’re missing! My favorite by far is organic Argan Oil found exclusively in southwestern Morocco,  known as “liquid gold” to women of Morocco for hundreds of years. It not only feels wonderful, it does not leave your skin oily and produces amazing skin. Yes, I said amazing skin. You will look younger. You will feel younger. I can’t say enough about this product.

With only a handful of ingredients such as Vitamin F (essential fatty acids) and triterpens and linoliec acid, you will wonder why you ever spent hundreds on chemical laden skin care products that give you so so results, if any. The ingredients in Organic Argan Oil  regenerate and rejuvenate skin cells, encouraging the growth of new healthy cells, while sloughing off old, dead skin cells.

Organic Argan Oil defends your skin against:

  • Premature aging
  • Aging and cell degeneration
  • Dryness
  • Acne
  • Scars

Use organic Argan Oil and your skin will become more supple, more toned, more resistant. The rich amount of anti-oxidants found in this “miracle” oil provide your skin with a natural barrier protecting it from smoke, pollution, and harmful free radicals. Argan Oil contains a high amount of anti-inflammatory agents (Vitamin E and triterpens) which make it effective for relieving muscle aches and joint pains, making this the most all around amazing massage oil.

Use organic Argan Oil on hands and nails to strengthen nail cuticles, and keep nails beautiful. Use organic Argan oil to restore shine and softness to dull lifeless hair, and strengthen brittle hair.

This wonderful oil revitalizes your entire body keeping it fresh and soft.

It will diminish wrinkles oftentimes even eliminating them. Ya, Ya, I know, they all say that. But, this one really does the job!

One of the most beneficial organic skin care products in the world; organic Argan Oil is definately here to stay.

  • Natural Remedies For Skin-for your off days

natural-remedies-for-skin1Taking care of your skin on a regular basis from the inside should be priority. Even so, we all need a little help when we haven’t been particularly diligent about our daily rituals. It seems that skin problems always arise at the most inopportune times like when you have a party to go or a hot date. Some of the following natural remedies for skin by Rona Berg may help those last minute disasters.

Dehydrated skin: Make an exfoliating mask by mixing 2 drops of lavender oil with baking soda and water until it becomes a paste. Put on face and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse and moisturize.

Dull Skin: Refrigerate aloe vera gel for at least an hour. Pat it on face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse.

Flaky Skin: Place a sprinkling of sugar in your palm and dampen with water. Gently massage the flaky areas and rinse.

Oily Patches: Spritz your face with rose water in a spray bottle every morning or dab it on after cleansing. Keep in refrigerator.

Pimples:
Make a paste with water and sea salt and apply it to blemish twice a day soak a piece of bread in milk. Place it on the pimple for up to 30 minutes. Rinse.

Irritated or sensitive skin: Make a pot of chamomile tea. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze. Wrap a cube in a thin cloth and rub on face.

Sunshine Botanicals Total Body Transformation
Other natural remedies for skin that I have used personally:

Rose hip seed oil: softens lines around eyes.

Sweet almond oil: feels as luscious as it sounds

Evening primrose oil: soothes eczema

Lavender: soothes irritations and dries pimples.

We all have off days…use these natural remedies for skin and no one will be the wiser.

  • Deadly Psoriasis Treatment or Natural Psoriasis Treatment?

By now, most people have heard that the psoriasis drug Raptiva not only might cause a brain infection, but it could even kill you. From the Raptiva website:

Infections, including serious infections leading to hospitalizations or death, have been observed in patients treated with Raptiva. These infections have included bacterial sepsis, viral meningitis, invasive fungal disease and other opportunistic infections. Patients should be educated about the symptoms of infection and be closely monitored for signs and symptoms of infection during and after treatment with Raptiva. If a patient develops a serious infection, Raptiva should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.

Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) resulting from JC virus infection has occurred during therapy with Raptiva.

PML kills a whopping 80 percent of those who contract it within just six months. Survivors of the disease usually have severe, lifelong neurological damage. As usual, it took death to require proper warnings. I have never had psoriasis however I am pretty sure I would choose a natural psoriasis treatment over one that could potentially kill me.

Psoriasis is a chronic, autoimmune skin disorder that causes unsightly, scaly red patches to appear on the skin. Normal skin cells mature and replace dead skin every 28–30 days. Psoriasis causes skin cells to mature in less than a week. Because the body can’t shed old skin as rapidly as new cells are rising to the surface, raised patches of dead skin develop on the arms, back, chest, elbows, legs, nails, folds between the buttocks, and scalp.

Is this dangerous psoriasis drug really worth the risks to clear up your skin?

From the Douglass Report……As usual, the FDA issued a warning — but still left the drug available on the marketplace for those who are brave enough to take the drug (or whose doctor is stupid enough prescribe it). Apparently, the FDA doesn’t think the fact that four patients who took Raptiva were soon after diagnosed with progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) in the brain – three of whom have died – is enough to pull the drug off of shelves.

Why would anyone choose to use this drug over a natural psoriasis treatment? There are plenty of natural alternatives out there, far too many to list here. Here are just a few…

Brazil Nut Oil, located at health food stores is rich in vitamin E and selenium and may sooth and eliminate itching.

Camomile, used widely in Europe to treat psoriasis and eczema, contains used widely in Europe to treat psoriasis and excema, contains flavonoids which have anti- inflammatory properties and used topically can actually work better than prescription creams.

Milk Thistle seed has at least eight anti-inflammatory compounds that may affect the skin and can be taken in capsule form.

External Licorice applications are known to be just as effective as hydrocortisone treatments in treating psoriasis. You can purchase a licorice extract and apply directly to skin.

And don’t forget the oatmeal bath. Oatmeal has been used forever in relieving itchy skin.

Don’t risk your life for healthy skin. Do some research before taking dangerous medication and opt for a natural psoriasis treatment first and foremost.

Get dramatic psoriasis relief now.

  • Natural Dry Skin Recipes

Making your own natural dry skin recipe is not difficult however you may need to change and experiment with the base oil based on your preference. Base oils for dry skin are olive oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, or avocado oil. Essential oils for dry skin are lavender, lemon, and orange. Store bought skin creams for dry skin do not work. They have tons of chemicals that will cause more damage to your skin in the long run. Why pay a fortune for a department store skin cream when you can make your own for a third of the cost. The following recipes are from “Made Right for Your Skin Type” by Shirley Gillett:

• ¾ cup oil (based on your skin type)
• 1 level tbls of coconut oil
• ½ ounce beeswax
• ½ tsp liquid lecithin
• 1 tsp vitamin E
• 1 tsp vitamin C powder
• 20 drops each of an essential oil (lavender, lemon, rosemary)
• ¾ cup distilled water
• ½ tsp grapefruit seed extract

Heat ¾ cup of base oil, coconut oil, and beeswax in small saucepan until the wax melts, and set aside. Add lecithin and vitamin E and mix well. Let it set until it is jelly like.

In the meantime, combine the vitamin C powder and grapefruit seed extract with the distilled water. Stir until vitamin C is dissolved. Add all of the essential oils to the water mixture. After the oils have set to the jelly stage, the oils into a blender on high. Add distilled water mixture to the oils slowly while blending.

Turn off blender only when the consistency has turned to a smooth cream. Place in jars and store extra jars in the refrigerator.

Lavender and Honey anti-wrinkle cream:

• 1 Tbls lavender water
• 1 Tbls buttermilk
• 1 Tbls honey
• 1 Tbls heavy cream
• 1 egg yolk
• 5 drops tincture of myrrh

Whip egg yolk and add all other ingredients. Mix well. Cleanse skin and then apply mixture. Leave on for at least 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. Refrigerate and use over two days.

These all natural dry skin recipes get the job done.

  • Certified organic ingredients-What you must know

certified-organic-ingredientsHow often have you been convinced to purchase a product with the word “organic” on the label? Whould it suprise you to learn that this product may not have a single certified organic ingredient in it? Organic ingredients are plant oils or extracts, or other unadulterated agricultural products.

Some manufacturers use marketing ploys such as “made with 100% organic botanicals,” meaning that a few of the individual ingredients are “100% organic“…but the others could be synthetic. They may also advertise organic ingredients on the front of the package yet these ingredients are listed last. The last ingredients listed on a product label are used the least in these products.

For example a new product line of shampoos and conditioners has a great sounding organic name: Organix. They advertise organic ingredients on the front of the bottles. The Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo advertises an exclusive blend of organic coconut milk, ultra whipped egg white proteins and weightless coconut oils. Turn the bottle over and the ingredients I just mentioned are some of the last ones on the ingredient list after all of the chemical ones we can’t pronounce. That means that they are definitely in there however very, very, small amounts that will never make difference in your hair!

Still some other manufacturers advertise things like “no sodium lauryl sulfate” or mention some other chemicals to give the impression that they don’t use any chemicals. They just don’t use that particular chemical. “Made with no harmful chemicals”? What is considered harmful? They are still using chemicals, just not harmful ones?

So beware of this very common marketing technique: listing certified organic ingredients on a label does not necessarily make a product organic or even remotely healthy for you.

If you are concerned about ingredients in your beauty products or would like to learn about chemical ingredients found in these products visit  The environmental working group’s Skin Deep cosmetic safety database. Just type in the ingredient in question in the search bar, and voila! Up comes chemical descriptions, a list of products with this ingredient and even a hazard score. 0-2: low hazard, 3-6 moderate, and 7-10 high hazard. Search beauty products with hazard score zero, in addition to those with high hazard scores-products you may want to pass on.

  • Natural Skin Care Remedies

Taking care of your skin is so important. It is the only skin you’ll ever have. You determine how well it will look now, and in the future. Therefore you want to be certain that the products or other items that you are using to care for your skin are the best possible. This is why it may be advantageous to create your own natural skin care products rather than taking a chance on store bought products. These products are often filled with harsh chemicals and other mysterious ingredients that you would not want to put on your skin if you really understood what they were. When you make your own products, you know exactly what goes into them. You can also save money, and even give away your products as gifts!

Did you know that you have many great items already in your home that can be used to create your natural skin care products? Everything from fruit to honey, oatmeal to eggs can be used to creative skin lifting products, moisturizing products, and more natural skin care remedies.

It can be as simple as creating a natural face lift with two egg yolks and a teaspoon of sugar, or a bit more complicated such as this bath milk recipe.

Cleopatra’s Bath Milk

• 2 cups powdered milk
• 1 Tablespoon Jojoba or Sweet Almond Oil
• 2 Tablespoons dried rose petals (can be obtained at large health food stores)
• 1/2 cup ground oatmeal (grind oats finely in your blender)
• 10 drops lavender essential oil or other favorite oil

Mix all ingredients well and keep in a glass jar in the refrigerator. To use, put as much as you like into your bath under running water. You can also buy reusable muslin tea bags at the health food store and place the mixture in these. To use, just drop one in the bath water.

  • Do you suffer from very dry skin? Here are some easy remedies for relief!

Loving the skin you’re in can be difficult when that skin is very dry skin. For one thing, it’s likely that you live with the never ending irritation of itchy skin. Scratching only serves to produce even more irritation to the skin cells and you run the risk of getting skin infections. Sometimes the cause of very dry skin conditions is simply genetic. Fair skinned and thin skinned people often suffer from overly dry skin, especially as the age. All older people tend to lose the natural oils which teens usually have in abundance. While you no longer get zits, now you’ve traded one problem for another. This lack of natural oils is what leads to wrinkles! So, what to do? Here are several easy and economical ways to beat the very dry skin syndrome.

During winter when the heat is up, the air in your home becomes very dry. Summer is no better, as air conditioning also decreases the humidity. Do yourself a favor and buy a couple of humidifiers to raise the amount of moisture in the air. Skin-E-Care (B3)

Another simple remedy that works well for very dry skin on the face is to fill your sink basin with some very hot water. Toss in a few dried rose petals and a handful of dried lavender. Put a towel over your heat and give yourself a moisturizing facial. While the flowers don’t relieve the dryness, the steam does. The lavender will tend to leave you feeling relaxed as well.

If you’re a fan of very hot baths and showers, you might want to turn the temperature down and make those shorter events. It’s a fact that hot water in direct contact with your skin is a recipe for very dry skin. Never rub your skin with the towel. Just pat your skin dry and then immediately apply some jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is an extremely effective moisturizer and does not cost any more than a good bottle of lotion. Avocado oil is a bit lighter and has a high content of vitamin E, which is nurturing to your very dry skin. Both can be purchased in bulk at herb shops.

Speaking of lotions, always read the ingredients labels before you buy. Many contain cetyl-alcohol as a major ingredient. Cetyl-alcohol – in fact, any form of alcohol – is very drying to the skin and is best avoided. This also goes for cosmetics. Check that label!

When you’re in the bath, try dissolving a few heaping tablespoons of cornstarch in the tub. This simple remedy will take the itch right out of your very dry skin. A cup of baking soda, added to the tub is another old time remedy to relieve itchy dry skin.

Bath oils can help relieve dry skin conditions. Just be sure to put adhesive non-slip strips in the bottom of the tub, to avoid falling on the slippery surface bath oils produce.

Always wear gloves when doing housework. Most household cleaning products contain chemicals that, while cleaning up the tub or kitchen, will also dry your hands out terribly.

Diet is also important. Vitamins A, C, E and zinc are important to healthy skin, so be sure to load up on those fruits and veggies! Ask your doctor about taking supplements of these vitamins.

All of these remedies will help your very dry skin into a new, more supple state!
