My first experience with the healing power of salt water was on vacation in Bermuda several years ago. I jumped out of bed and split my forehead open on a fireplace shelf in my room. I had a huge gash that no doubt should have been treated in the emergency room of the hospital. Being me and not wanting to waste any of my time in a hospital, I chose to hit the beach instead.
After spending a few minutes in the ocean, the cut immediately began to heal and by mid-afternoon, it had completely healed itself. It was amazing. Needless to say, I ended up very sick with sun poisoning anyway. Two lessons learned on that wonderful vacation!
The Dead Sea is one of the saltiest lakes in the world. The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans have only 3% or 4% salt content-the Dead Sea has 32% salt content and with so many other minerals such as sulfur, magnesium and potassium, nothing can live in it, hence the name Dead Sea.

While there is no research proving that Dead Sea minerals help reduce or eliminate wrinkles, there are several studies showing the positive effect that these minerals have on psoriasis. Some patients not only clear the psoriasis with Dead Sea salts but make the recurrences less severe. No one is certain how these Dead Sea minerals affect psoriasis.
One theory is that the mineral content of the water slows down cell division and another is that the high mineral content cleanses and detoxifies, eliminating toxins in the body. This may be of great benefit to those who are unwilling to make the dietary changes needed to alleviate psoriasis symptoms.
At any rate, Dead Sea mineral salts are known to benefit the body from the inside out, treating skin conditions and improving the overall health of your body. After witnessing the healing effects of good old ocean water on my skin, I am a firm believer in Dead Sea products. It’s just too bad that there isn’t anything to make my scar disappear just as quickly.

Known as Dead Sea black mud, this Dead Sea mud is a mixture of Dead Sea salts and minerals rich in magnesium, natural tar and silicates, the organic elements from the shore all blended with the earth. It is the silicates that are useful for cleansing and softening the skin resulting in a natural glow. Dead Sea mud is known to improve and stimulate blood circulation.
I came across an interesting article that discussed the Dead Sea soap. It was rather informative and actually made me stop and think for a few minutes (okay, okay, I’ll come clean – seconds!).
Call me crazy but I can’t stop looking for information on Dead Sea products. Then again, you know how hung up I am on this stuff and here is some info on the Dead Sea cream, not for women only.
As you all know, I am really passionate about the Dead Sea scrub. I live and breathe it! I’m always trying to cook up new ways to learn about the benefits of the Dead Sea scrub and on one of my Internet surfing trips, I found this awesome article.
Always a good excuse to get together with friends-the Dead Sea Mask is the best!
