Just about every cosmetic company is jumping on the mineral makeup bandwagon and for good reason. The best mineral makeup leaves skin with a soft, natural feel and long lasting glow. It lessens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It helps to conceal blemishes, scars, sun damage, acne, rosacea and skin discoloration. And it is all natural.

Unfortunately, you won’t find the best mineral makeup at your local Walmart or drugstore. Parabens: used in millions of cosmetic products; methylparaben, polpylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben, benzylparaben. They are toxic chemicals that seeps into tissues. Parabens have been linked to cancer.

Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup Powder has methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben and alumina in it’s ingredient list.

Cover Girl Tru-blend Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation lists methylparaben and propylparaben in the list of ingredients.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Mineral Powder Foundation: methylparaben, tocopheryl acetate and propylparaben.

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc Free Mineral Foundation (note the talc free gimick). Talc free, but uses methylparaben, PEG-32, propylparaben, butylparaben. Buyer beware.

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation lists methylparaben, polyethylene, and propylparaben.

Now for the good stuff…the best mineral makeup with no oils, talc, perfume, bismuth and no parabens. These products are oftentimes sold for less than department and drugstore brands. No big television ads and no fancy packaging for the best mineral makeup.
